Authentic

Authentic is a modern EFT authorization and routing system for issuers and acquirers of credit, debit, charge and private label cards. Authentic addresses the needs of banks, retailers and processors. An SOA-oriented product, Authentic is specifically targetted at the card payments market.

Written in Java and using ORACLE or DB/2, Authentic is truly platform independent. Authentic is designed with future needs in mind, with an emphasis on user configuration rather than programming.

Ultra high performance, high availability distributed architecture
Authentic's distributed architecture results in linearly scaleable performance. Authentic has achieved in excess of 2,000 transactions per second throughput in a recent benchmark on HP Integrity series computers. This places Authentic firmly in the big league, capable of handling the processing needs of the largest institution, retailer or card processor. Authentic has been designed with built-in failover functionality, enabling high availability to be achieved on conventional hardware.

Object oriented design and action list processing
Authentic has an object oriented design based on a list processing architecture. This enables easy development and inclusion of new processing logic without disrupting existing code. This dramatically reduces development and testing time and the risk of compromising tried and tested code already in the system, leading to lower overall costs and making the business far better able to respond to external change.

Dynamic and responsive business rules
Authentic has user configurable business rules which put users in control, enabling them to dynamically configure authorization logic. This enhances agility and empowers the business to be responsive to change and to external events.

Highly configurable interfaces to networks and devices
Authentic deployments always include Message Mapper which enables interfaces to be easily created and maintained without the need for specialist programming, thereby reducing costs and greatly enhancing business agility. In contrast, competitive products have no interface configuration facility, interfaces being either hard coded or scripted, making maintenance and adaptation of interfaces a high cost, manually intensive activity.

Authentic handles a variety of Point of Service (POS) devices, Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) and interfaces to national and international networks, or any combination of subsets of these.

Compartmentalization
With Authentic, customization is a achieved via a combination of configurable messaging, configurable business rules and configurable action list-based processing logic. This so called "compartmenatlization" means that client -specific customizations are separated from the main Authentic processing engine, greatly easing support and facilitating upgrades to new Authentic product releases.

Compartmentalization also makes it easy for client staff or a client's outsourcer's staff to rapidly become proficient in customizing the system, enabling the client to achieve a far higher degree of vendor independence than is possible with other competitive products, which often results in radically reduced project life cycle costs.
