Message Mapper is Alaric's core message transformation and management product. As well as being deployable standalone, it is provided as an integral part of Authentic and Fractals product deployments.

There is a universal need to be able to transform between payments messages in a plethora of different formats, such as ISO 8583 and XML-based formats such as ISO 20022. Today, in other vendors products, such message transformation is predominantly achieved by coding, making it slow to implement test and deploy new interfaces and expensive to change existing interfaces.

Message Mapper represents a radical and innovative improvement in the way that message transformations are effected. Using Message Mapper, incoming and outgoing interface specifications are entered via a GUI and mapping from the one interface to the other is effected by point-and-click GUI-based configuration rather than by coding. This means that message transformations become quick to implement and and are easy to comprehend, support and change in the future, resulting in quicker, cheaper projects and greatly enhancing business agility.

Deployed standalone, Message Mapper may be either embedded in customers' applications (for example, as an integral part of a Web Services Adapter) to provide high performance payment message transformation or can be deployed as a service to which messages are sent and from which transformed messages are received back.

More complex payment system integration and legacy wrapping applications typically require message routing and network management capability as well as Message Mapper's transformation capability . Such applications are addressed by Alaric's Authentic Gateway product, which incorporates Message Mapper.

Written in Java, Message Mapper is linearly scalable as well as being platform and operating system independent.
